Day Two

11:30 am - 12:00 pm EST Panel session: Prioritizing diversity, equality and inclusivity in your employee engagement strategy

Dr Stephanie Murphy - People Analytics Professor, The University of Texas at Austin
Via Van Liew - Principal Director of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, The Aerospace Corporation

Gone are the days where a nice paycheck would keep your employees happy. The new generation of workers are looking for purpose, meaning in their job and a feeling that they play an active role in shaping the company. Not just that, they see through the generic newsletters and instead they want you to speak directly to them and their needs.

  • How do you create core values which speak to each individual within your company?
  • What strategies can you put in place to interact with your employees on a personal level including updates, forums, celebratory congratulations and rewards?
  • How can design thinking help you consult with your employees and co-create solutions & listening strategies which are built on inclusion?
  • How can you create authentic recognition which rewards your employee in a way which is meaningful to them?
  • How can you distribute resources fairly by identifying groups that may need extra support and reach new levels of personal growth

12:00 pm - 12:30 pm EST Fireside chat: How do you evolve your business to embrace a culture change of digitization?

Francesca Di Meglio - Editor, HR Exchange Network
Markus Bernhardt - Chief Evangelist, OBRIZUM

Corporate culture is the key to tomorrow’s success. It is built on a delicate mix of values, behaviours and mindset and should be checked continually and developed step by step. A distinct company culture will therefore be crucial to differentiating a company and keeping employees engaged.

In order to do so, you’ll need to define your core company values and ensure you have the buy-in from corporate management - so what do you need to include in your business case?

  • How long does change ideally need to become fully visible?
  • How are you going to pilot a culture change programme? Is it best to start with a group of employees?
  • Do you have a clear understanding of a digital culture? How can you embrace this culture by supporting “failure” culture, flat hierarchies and open business which allows the exchange of intellectual property?
