Sophia Ang

Sophia Ang is Head of Talent Attraction and Workplace Futurisation at Maybank. Graduated in biotechnology, she decided that life is just more than petri dishes, and joined the banking industry as a management trainee in Maybank. She has since taken on multiple roles which set her foundation as a talent manager, talent keeper, talent hunter and a talent marketer today.

In her current role, she leads the design, strategy and implementation of Maybank Group’s brand and planning initiatives for on-ground and digital activation. She also heads the design and recruitment of Maybank’s Group marque graduate development programme – the Global Maybank Apprentice (GMAP), a 2-year rotational programme that offers best-in-class development, incorporating on-the-job training and international assignment to offices where Maybank has presence in.

She also leads the award-winning international student competition - The Maybank GO Ahead. Challenge (MGAC). Since its inception in 2012, the competition has unearth outstanding students and graduates across the world, which serves as a constant stream of talents to their graduate pipeline programmes.

Ms Ang looks into the future of work, workplace, and workforce – as a response to the challenges and opportunities that the 4^th Industrial Revolution will have.
