Diversity, equity, and inclusion should be at the center of everything an organization does, so it defines the workplace culture. As a result, HR leaders must learn how to integrate DEI into everything they do. First, they have to convince leadership that this should be a top priority. They must get the C-suite executives to lead by example. Only then will they be able to transform the culture and help people arrive at that vital sense of belonging. There is a moral imperative, certainly. However, there is also a business imperative. Studies show that diverse teams outperform less diverse teams.
