Ep. 69 The Great Resignation with Steve Cadigan
Add bookmarkRecent months have seen a wave of people leaving their jobs in search of something else. What that something else is varies from person to person, be it money, flexibility or the creation of an entirely new lifestyle. The trend has led many headline writer and expert to labell this period, "the Great Resignation."
In April alone, 4 million people walked away from their current positions. Normally, this might be a sign of a strong economy that offers plenty of opportunity to workers, but given the current state of the world, that simply isn't the case.
The pandemic has been far more than an economic crisis. It's been a remarkably human crisis as well and as people emerge from it, they find themselves asking a lot of questions about their lives, work and what it should all look like going forward in a world filled with uncertainty.
On today's show, David chats with author, and former VP of Talent at LinkedIn, Steve Cadigan about the Great Resignation. They dig into what's driving it, what it means for employees, employers and the future of work.
Some of the topics covered in the show are also explored in Steve's latest book, titled "Workquake: Embracing the Aftershocks of COVID-19 to Create a Better Model of Working," which you can purchase on Amazon.
